University BDT College of Engineering, Davangere is located in the central part of Karnataka state, India, Started in the year 1951.

The College is a constituent College of Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Institute offers 8UG and 7PG programmes including MBA and MCA. All the Departments in the institute have been recognized as Research centers by VTU, Belagavi excluding MCA and offers PhD and MSc (Engg.) by Research Programmes.

In our institute more than 187 Research scholars have got PhD degree and nearly 119 Research scholars are pursuing their doctoral degree in various frontiers of Engineering and Technology. Most of the faculty have acquired their Doctoral degrees from reputed institutions like IISc.,IITs.,NITs and various Universities. More than 70 faculty members have doctoral degrees. Currently 59 faculty members are actively involved in guiding PhD students includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and MBA Departments.

The various Departments of institute received the research grants from various funding agencies such as DST,AICTE,VGST,KSCST, The Institute has separate building for Research & Development Centre funded by Davangere Smart city limited, Davangere, Karnataka.
